Mirage driver Mark Stiles made a perfect start to racing his new Xray M18T Pro on Monday night when he attended a club meeting in High Wycombe, Bucks.

Having built the car on the Monday afternoon, Mark arrived at the track having not turned a wheel on his new car. Despite this he was quick straight away, winning the first qualifying round with a 22 lap run - 2 laps quicker than the 2nd placed driver!

Mark went on to better his score to 23 laps and in doing so he won the remaining two qualification rounds. He lined up in pole position for the single leg A final having qualified almost 2 full laps clear of 1/10th off road superstar Chris Doughty, who was driving a Lipo equipped Associated RC18B.

After some early pressure from Chris in the final, Mark eased away from the field to take a comfortable victory by a full lap! He is now looking to continue his good form at subsequent club meetings in the run up to the final BRCA micro national of the winter season, which takes place at the Chesterfield club in March.

Mark has previously been running a standard M18T, and has said that the longer wheelbase on the new Pro car makes it far easier to drive, whilst the spring steel drive shafts and nickel plated pivot balls make the car tough enough to handle anything the track and driver can throw at it!
